About the Chang’anjie Media Notebook

This is the Chang’anjie Media Notebook, kept by David Feng, who has a PhD in communication (media).

The name of this blog, Chang’anjie, is Chinese for the most important avenue in China’s capital, Chang’an Avenue, literally the Avenue of Eternal Peace. It is known for running right in front of Tian’anmen, but also has a lot key Chinese media organisations along the nearly 50 kilometre-long avenue. These include China Radio International, China National Radio, Radio Beijing, as well as both the old and (just a bit off the avenue) the new headquarters of China Central Television, as well as the new headquarters of Beijing TV. It also includes a key media university, the Communication University of China.

The goal of the Chang’anjie Media Notebook is to be an online notebook-cum-blog written by a media academic, designed to inform audiences from an “as-is” point of view about developments in Chinese media.
